How to Avoid Getting Cockroaches When I’m Sleeping
Cockroaches are usually not interested in you while you sleep. They’re more interested in food and tend to make fluttering noises when they fly or bump into objects. However, in large infestations, the chances of being crawled on are much greater. To avoid being bitten by a cockroach, you should sterilize the bedposts and other areas of your home.
While cockroach bites are rare, they can occur during heavy infestations and when food is scarce. They may also infest your ear or nose, making your sleep unpleasant. Fortunately, they are not a common problem and can be prevented by keeping your home clean and sealing any possible entry points. While they rarely live in mattresses, their allergens can lead to skin rashes and even asthma attacks.
A cockroach’s diet includes dead skin and hair, so be sure not to bring food into your bedroom. Roaches are particularly attracted to crumbs, so removing these from your bed will help keep the roaches away. You can also clean behind large furniture, such as beds, to eliminate their nests.
Cockroaches like dark, moist areas. Their homes often include bookcases, old newspapers, and piles of fabric. They will even hide in pet food bags, as they need moisture to survive.
