Maggots are the larvae of many insects. They are generally white, but can also be brown, black, or tan. They feed on dead animals, including humans. These creatures are common in homes with inaccessible dead animals. In the wild, most carrion is consumed by blowflies in just a few minutes.

Maggots are attracted to decomposing foods, such as animal feces and garbage. Once they hatch, the maggots eat the food. Once you spot the larvae, you should try to eliminate them. You can kill them by using pesticides that contain Permethrin.

The female maggot fly lives about a month and lays 500 to 2,000 eggs, which she lays near a hidden food source. The maggot larvae can survive for two to three days without food but up to eight days if they are fed. The larvae then enter a pupa stage. Once they reach the adult stage, they are known as cockroaches.

Cockroaches are closely related to termites. They share a similar social structure, but lack a definite hierarchy. Instead, they live in groups, and often make collective decisions on where to live. In one study, researchers at the Free University of Brussels discovered that cockroaches form groups based on available space.
