Is Bed Bugs Bad?
Bedbugs are a nuisance that plague homes and businesses alike. Not only do they inhabit our bed frames, but they also carry disease and disrupt our daily lives. These insects have the potential to spread to other rooms in our homes or businesses and can even cause major problems if not treated promptly. Fortunately, there are several ways to get rid of bedbugs.
One way to identify bedbugs is by their fecal stains. Bedbugs can leave fecal stains on carpets, and they can also produce blood stains. While they rarely live on the floor, their bodies are flat enough to fit into tiny crevices, like the seams of a bed. They can also travel across surfaces and spread to neighboring rooms.
Once you have identified an infested area, the next step is to wash all of your clothes in hot water. However, if you cannot do this immediately, you should put the clothes in a sealed plastic bag until you can wash them. This will help prevent bedbugs from coming back. Also, be sure to dry your bedding and clothes on the highest heat setting possible.
If you suspect that you have bedbugs, check your bedsheets for fecal matter and bite marks. These bites may appear as red or slightly brown spots. You may also notice tiny dark spots on your bedsheets. While the bites are not very noticeable, they are an indication of a bedbug infestation. These little insects live around electrical outlets, cracks in furniture, and around seams. The bites are usually quite painful, but they usually clear up in a couple of weeks.
