How Can You Kill Bed Bugs?
One of the most common ways to kill bedbugs is to apply heat. Generally, heat treatment involves setting a room at 120 to 130 degrees for seven to 60 minutes. This method is effective, but it can damage your belongings. Also, heat treatments do not kill all the bedbugs. Depending on their life cycle, you may need to repeat the treatment more than once.
If you can’t get rid of the bugs by simply applying heat, you may try burning them. However, you should be aware that some areas do not allow burning household items, so it is important to check local laws before burning. Also, make sure that you burn only the affected items. This method should be used only if the affected items are heavily stained. Otherwise, you’ll need to replace them or treat the entire house.
Another option is freezing. This method is a little more difficult. To freeze bed bugs, you must put small items in a freezer for four days. This method is effective, but you need to make sure that the temperature stays at an even lower temperature. Otherwise, the bedbugs will be able to come out of the freezer.
Using plastic bags is also a good way to kill bedbugs. But this method is not 100% effective. While they are small, they are very fast crawlers. They’re also good explorers. They’ll find a way out of a normal plastic bag. Moreover, most bags feature small holes on the bottom to avoid suffocation. If these holes are not present, the plastic bags won’t be of any use to the bedbugs.
