Do Bed Bug Interceptors Work?

While bed bug interceptors are a great way to prevent an infestation, they are not a cure-all. It is best to use these devices in conjunction with other treatment methods. The only way to completely eradicate bed bugs is to treat the source of the infestation. Luckily, there are a few ways to do this.

One method is to make your own traps. These can be placed under the legs of the bed and will catch any bed bugs that try to crawl up them. The traps can be left in the room permanently, or you can keep checking them occasionally. In both cases, you will want to keep an eye on the bed bug situation and monitor its spread.

Interceptors are made of plastic and are placed around the legs of furniture. Because the plastic is smooth, bed bugs find it difficult to walk on it. In addition, the raised surfaces of the interceptor act as mountains that are insurmountable for the insects. These traps can protect one bed, or a whole room.

While bed bug interceptors are an effective way to control an infestation, it is not a cure. Homemade traps are an even better option than pesticides, since they are pesticide-free and do not release toxic chemicals into the air.
