Can You Get Bed Bugs in Your Hair?
You may have heard of the question, “Can you get bed bugs in your hair?” You may have thought the answer was no, but recent reports of bed bug infestations have shown that this common pest does exist. The bad news is that bed bugs are difficult to get rid of once they are in your hair.
One way to eliminate bed bugs from your hair is by using an oil treatment. Because bedbugs need air to survive, dousing your hair with oil drowns them out. You can use neem oil, which is natural and repels insects. Neem oil is known to disrupt insect hormones and stop their reproduction processes. Alternatively, you can use coconut or olive oil. Once you’ve applied the oil, you can leave it on overnight to kill bed bugs and prevent further infestation.
One way to identify bed bug infestations is to look for itchy, red welts. These are a symptom of bedbugs in your hair. It’s difficult to distinguish these welts from dandruff because of their size. Moreover, bed bug bites can cause a rash and secondary skin infections, including cellulitis. You might also experience hair loss.
If you have bed bugs in your hair, you should not panic. It’s unlikely that these bugs will live in your hair long enough to infest you. The problem lies in the fact that bed bugs are not designed to live in your scalp. They prefer a more temperate climate. However, this doesn’t mean they can’t live in your hair.
