How to Keep Wasps Out of Your Home
During the spring and summer, you’ll probably notice that wasps are a bit more active than they are at other times of the year. They will be flying around more and trying to find new places to build their nests. In the winter, they will be more prone to staying in places where they can hide from the cold. They will also be scouting for food sources.
Fortunately, there are ways to keep wasps from entering your home. The first step is to seal up any gaps that they may be using to get inside. Seal up holes in doors and windows to prevent wasps from coming in through these openings.
If you have a fireplace or chimney, make sure that the flue is closed up completely and that there are no cracks or holes on the outside of the chimney. Older chimneys have exterior cracks and holes that can allow wasps to come in through the chimney.
If your bathroom is a hotter place than other rooms, there’s a good chance that wasps have entered through your vents. These vents can lead directly outside of your home, so check them regularly. Also, look at your vent covers to make sure that they are intact. If they are damaged, replace them immediately.
Lastly, you should check the attic to see if there are any openings that might be allowing wasps to get in. If there are any, you should spray the area with insecticide. If the wasps keep coming, you might need to call a pest control professional.
