How Can Spiders Give You Powers?
The most common way for spiders to give you powers is through a radioactive spider bite. However, this method of obtaining these abilities is rare.
Most people who possess Spider Powers have increased strength and agility. Some also gain the ability to balance on one surface, mimicking the crawling style of a spider. This helps with their wall-crawling ability.
During his early comic book years, Peter Parker gained the ability to stick to walls. However, he did not know he could. Later on, he was able to stick with his feet as well.
After his spider-bites, his skin grew barbed hairs. These strands warn him of danger, which can prevent him from becoming a victim. The venom in a spider’s bite does not modify DNA, but can cause pain and swelling.
A few species of spiders have the ability to grow back their legs. These spiders have a special organ in the leg which detects tiny vibrations in the environment. The spider then increases the body fluid flow to the leg to help it continue to move.
Another species has metallic poison-injecting blades that are built into its face. This is the type of spider that gave Miles Morales his Venom Strike and Spider-Sense.
Kaine Parker also has stingers. These venoms burn and scar the victim’s skin. These venoms also release polyamine venom, which causes minor paralysis.
These spiders also have a “touchy-feely” side. Their fang tips are almost entirely metal. This allows them to endure the most stress.
