Can Silverfish Get in Your LED Lights?
If you are afraid of silverfish, you might wonder if LED lights can attract them. The answer to this question depends on the location and the type of light.
Silverfish are usually attracted to dark, damp, and moist areas. They are often found in bathrooms, kitchens, and in old cupboards.
Silverfish are not harmful to humans. But they can cause damage to homes and property.
Although they are not a pest, silverfish can leave stains on fabric and cardboard boxes. Some people have allergies to them.
To keep them away, you should seal cracks and openings. It is also a good idea to use damp newspaper to trap them. You can also place boric acid in air vents or under entryways. This is an effective and nontoxic silverfish killer.
However, some insects can be attracted to lights. In fact, you can even keep silverfish away from your home using LED lights.
Since LED lights emit less UV and heat, they are not a very good choice for attracting bugs. Bugs tend to be attracted to warmer, drier, and shiny places.
Another way to avoid silverfish is to make sure that your light is sealed. You can also put sticky tape on the entrance to the light.
Aside from that, you should consider a nontoxic atmosphere. Using chemical solutions to kill insects isn’t a very safe option, though.
Also, don’t expect to see silverfish in daylight. They’re more likely to come in at night to look for food.
