How Rats Look Like
The rat has a similar appearance to mice, but it is much larger. They also have larger ears. However, the noses on mice and rats are quite different. They are also different in size and color. A rat’s nose is blunt, while a mouse’s is triangular.
There are three main species of rats. Black Rats are 16-20 cm long, and are charcoal gray or black above and cream or white below. They have a smooth coat, big ears, and a round face. Bush Rats, on the other hand, have fur on the top of their feet. The fur reaches their claws, and their tails are shorter than their bodies.
Scientists have used cameras to see how rats look when they are happy or sad. They have found that rats laugh when tickled, and they make a high-pitched sound to show their delight. In fact, recognizing this emotion could help improve the quality of life for captive animals. While this discovery isn’t definitive, it may help scientists learn more about how rats feel.
Rats are much larger than mice. A mature rat can measure 11 to 19 inches long and weigh up to a pound. In contrast, a mouse is around 6 inches long and can weigh as much as one pound. Moreover, the ears of a mouse are smaller than those of a rat.
