Do Mosquitoes Patches Work?
Despite the widespread use of mosquitoes patches, there aren’t many studies to prove whether these products work. The most effective repellents are topical and contain DEET. They are also the easiest to apply.
Some people wear wrist bands as a way to protect themselves from mosquitoes. These bands use botanical products such as citronella or lemon eucalyptus. They may provide a little protection but not enough.
Another option is the Off Clip-On, a wearable device that blows a fog of repellent around the wearer. It is not effective enough to keep mosquitoes off of your entire body, but it may offer some protection if you’re sitting in a single location.
Another option is a wrist band infused with DEET. These wrist bands usually offer less protection than other mosquitoes patches.
Unlike topical sprays, these mosquitoes patches are made with non-woven fabric patches and a pleasant citronella scent. Once the smell fades, they can be discarded.
Mosquitoes patches are easier to apply than topical sprays. They can be applied to clothes directly or they can be worn as stickers on clothes. You can even apply them to a stroller or backpack to keep mosquitoes away.
Other products include citronella candles. They can be used indoors to keep mosquitoes away. However, they are not effective when used outdoors. A more effective repellent is one containing oil of lemon eucalypt. This oil has proven to be effective in tribal forested villages of Mandla, India.
