How to Get Rid of Head Lice

There are several ways to control the spread of head lice. One effective way is to wash your child’s clothes thoroughly. It’s also a good idea to wash shared items like combs and towels. This is particularly important if you and your child are going to be playing close to others. You can also wash your child’s clothes at high temperatures. You don’t need to boil them to kill the lice, but you should do this in case your child comes into contact with someone who has them.

Another effective way of destroying head lice is to treat your bedding and pillowcases. You can either place them in direct sunlight or use a tumble dryer on high heat. If you have a bed containing a mattress, you can use a vacuum cleaner to get rid of any hiding places.

You can also wash your clothes and bedding. You may need to wash them several times. You should change your bedding and clothes frequently until your house is lice-free. Even though you wash them several times, lice may still remain alive in the clothing and bedding. Changing them every few days can reduce the risk of re-infection. However, you should also keep in mind that nits may remain on clothing and bedding after a few days.

Before you start your treatment, you should wash all the items you own that might be in contact with head lice. Remember to separate items by type, and put delicates in separate piles. Make sure to use hot water and a high temperature for the washing cycle. When you’re finished, do a thorough vacuuming to remove any remaining lice.
