Can You Go to Work With Head Lice?
Head lice are a nuisance for many people, but they are not harmful and do not cause any health problems. Lice are not known to spread any diseases and the only real risk you face from them is the itching they cause. This condition may cause you to lose sleep and it can also cause you to scratch excessively, increasing the risk of secondary skin infections. Although you can’t go to work with head lice, there are ways to treat the problem.
Firstly, make sure to wash your clothes in hot water with detergent. This will help prevent head lice from spreading. You should also avoid sharing bedding and clothing with other people. You may also want to avoid sharing hair accessories with others. If you have long hair, put it up in a bun, ponytail, or braid.
The next step is to check the hair. It may be easier to spot lice when it is wet, so make sure to rinse your hair thoroughly after you are finished. Alternatively, you can use an insecticide treatment. However, this is not mandatory, but it is a safe and effective option.
Head lice are tiny insects that live in human hair. They feed on blood and lay eggs at the base of the hair near the scalp. Once the eggs hatch, they become adults after nine to twelve days. If left untreated, this cycle can repeat every three weeks. Head lice are most common among children but anyone can get them.
