Where Do Flies Come From?
Fly infestations are common and can be caused by various causes. Typically, flies are attracted to decaying organic materials such as human and animal feces. They can also be attracted to manure and oozing wounds. These insects can transmit many diseases and are extremely unhygienic.
Keeping your home clean is a great way to keep flies away. Flies breed in damp areas like garbage bins, compost piles, and roadsides. Keep your windows and doors closed, and try to keep rotting materials out of your home. You can also keep flies out by keeping your home clean and dry. All they need to reproduce is a constant source of moisture and organic matter.
Flies lay their eggs on decaying organic material, such as dead animals. They feed on animal corpses, manure, and garbage. Their larvae need to eat to grow. After reaching a size of around 0.05 inches, they begin their moulting process. This process allows them to shed their exoskeleton and begin a new life cycle.
The most common type of fly found in homes is the house fly. This insect is gray in colour and between four and seven millimeters long. It has a distinctive four-striped pattern on its thorax and tiny hairs on its body. It also has large eyes that contain thousands of lenses. This allows the insect to see a wide area.
