How to Deal With Flies in Winter

In the winter, cluster flies are particularly problematic. These insects are difficult to kill because they’re already inside your walls. You can seal off these entrances, but this will trap them inside and attract other pests. The good news is that most cluster flies will leave your house once spring arrives. However, you should keep in mind that some may not leave through the access point that they first found, so it’s important to clean up dead cluster flies quickly.
During the winter, cluster flies and boxelder flies are common nuisance invaders. They live in moist conditions and will move into a building to lay eggs. Sealing these areas will prevent cluster flies from entering your home. While these flies aren’t damaging, they can cause trouble.
