Can You Use Normal Vinegar to Get Rid of Fruit Flies?
One of the most common problems with fruit flies is their habit of breeding rapidly. The good news is that there are several natural remedies to get rid of them. One of these is using vinegar. This common remedy is a simple and effective way to get rid of fruit flies. The vinegar acts by breaking the surface tension of the liquid, which makes the flies fall into it and drown.
Another simple remedy involves using fermented substances like wine to get rid of fruit flies. Place a wine bottle on a flat surface nearby the area where fruit flies are active. Cover the bottle with plastic wrap and fasten the plastic wrap with a rubber band. If the bottle has holes, the fruit flies will easily be drawn to it. The fermented alcohol will make the fruit flies fall into the bottle and be trapped. The same principle works with soap.
Another way to get rid of fruit flies is to use a fruit fly trap made of white vinegar. These traps can be placed in your kitchen, near the sink, or wherever you think fruit flies are active. The white vinegar should trap a substantial amount of fruit flies. A paper funnel can also be used to trap fruit flies.
If you don’t have any vinegar on hand, you can also try using a dish soap solution. This will kill the flies right on contact. However, this solution is not very effective if fruit flies lay eggs. If the adult fruit flies are already in your kitchen, you can’t be sure that the produce you are using has not yet been contaminated with fruit flies.
