What Size Are Flea Bites?

The size of flea bites is dependent on the severity and infected status of the flea. If you think that a flea has bitten you, try to remove it with tweezers or a clean cloth. If you can’t, you can apply a topical flea treatment like malathion five percent. Infected bites may be red, swollen, and painful. If these signs are present, you should see a doctor.

Fleas can live for weeks or months in soft furnishings and carpets. Flea bites are itchy and may look similar to mosquito bites, but they’re very different. They tend to have one puncture point rather than two, and the area may look halo-like.

Flea bites are red and clustered. They usually occur on the legs, ankles, and forearms. Fleabites are most likely to bite your legs and ankles because they have powerful legs and cannot jump higher than mid-calf. But you can also get fleabites on other parts of your body, such as your chest and breasts.

Fleas can vary in size, but they are typically 1/12″ to one-sixth of an inch in diameter. They lack wings, but they do have six legs. The bites can turn into large, raised welts and are itchy.
