How Much Does a Flea Weigh?

Fleas have a flat body and are only a few millimeters long, making them small enough to scurry through a host’s fur. They lack wings, but have hind legs that are adapted to jumping, claws for avoiding dislodging themselves, and mouthparts for piercing the host’s skin. Fleas have the ability to leap 50 times their body length, making them extremely fast and agile. Fleas produce two generations each year, and their larvae are worm-like and chewing organisms that feed on organic debris on their host’s skin.

Flea made his television debut in 1993 on The Simpsons. He was raised in Australia, but his parents moved to the United States when he was four years old. His stepfather, a raging alcoholic, often got into fights with the police. Flea grew up in an unstable environment, and he was terrified of his stepfather.
