Will Cockroaches Crawl in Your Ear?
Cockroaches are nocturnal insects, which means they enjoy damp and dark environments. If you find a cockroach in your ear, it may become stuck or die in the ear canal. If this happens, you may want to flush the roach out immediately.
One occurrence of a cockroach living in the ear of a human being occurred in the United States. A woman named Katie Holley awoke one morning to find a cockroach in her ear. Holley’s husband tried to extract the bug from her ear using tweezers. The cockroach had laid an egg case inside the ear. The doctor was able to remove the cockroach after injecting Lidocaine.
If you believe that you have an infection caused by cockroaches in your ear, you should go to the doctor immediately. He or she may be able to kill the roach with alcohol or oil or remove it using a small forceps. It is also important to keep your ears clean at all times.
Flies and other small insects are also able to enter your ear. They’re attracted to the chemicals we emit, and can enter the ear canal. While these aren’t the most common problems, if they happen, don’t panic!
