When the Cockroach Cartoon
WouterWhen the Cockroaches is a funny cartoon that follows the antics of Oggy the cat, a cat who spends his days living with three cockroaches. These little creatures are constantly causing trouble and ruining Oggy’s day. The cockroaches often infest the house, including the refrigerator and train. To stop them, Oggy uses the help of his friends: violent Jack, another cat, and short-tempered bulldog Bob.
A light yellow female cockroach named Lady K made her debut in the fourth season episode of the cartoon. Lady K is the biggest antagonist of the show, hating Olivia for unknowing reasons and using the cockroaches as pawns to play pranks on her. Oggy and his friends also have an adversary in the form of Pit, a large and very strong dog living in Oggy’s neighborhood.
The series is an action cartoon with grotesque sound effects. While it is an excellent tribute to the original Shuffle, Oggy and the Cockroaches is not for the faint-hearted. It is not suitable for younger children and many critics have said that the series is distasteful.
