Do Cockroaches Take Revenge?
Cockroaches do not have higher cognitive functions and do not plan their revenge. Cockroaches are simple insects that lead simple lives. They do not recognize other species and their conditioned responses are limited to chemo-motor and opto-motor responses. This makes cockroaches an unlikely victim for revenge.
Cockroaches are not particularly picky when it comes to food sources. They will eat their comrades if they find them dead, but they won’t necessarily do so if they don’t feel like eating. Rather, they’ll try to attract others with their smell.
Cockroaches can sense people but they do not approach them unless they have food. They’ll tend to run from you, but some will approach you to eat. They can see in darkness and have over 2,000 mini lenses in their eyes. Cockroaches are not aggressive and usually flee if they see a predator. However, there have been cases when they attack humans while sleeping or weak pets.
If you’re experiencing a cockroach problem in your home, the first step is to check your home for possible entry points. The reason they do this is that they are looking for food and a place to live. If they find food, they’ll attempt to stay in your home. You should also clean your home daily, especially your dining room table.
