Do Cockroaches Kill Spiders?
Cockroaches and spiders are both unwanted guests in any home. To keep these pests away, it is essential to keep your home as clean as possible. This includes making sure that you never leave dirty dishes or food out on your kitchen counter. You should also empty your trash cans on a regular basis and store your food in airtight containers. Then, you can be sure that your home is safe from these insects.
Spiders and cockroaches are not entirely similar, but they do look similar. The difference between the two creatures is in the species. You may have less spiders in Florida because of the high humidity and temperatures there. However, you will probably have fewer roaches if you live in a dry area.
Most house spiders live for 2 years and continue to reproduce. Outdoor varieties will reproduce in spring and mature throughout the summer. Once they reach adulthood, male house spiders begin active looking for a mate. House spiders are small, mobile, and usually crawl into homes. Unlike roaches, they do not intend to bite people. They hide in places with folded items or in small spaces.
While cockroaches are the main predator of spiders, other insects also feed on them. Centipedes and certain types of beetles eat them. Certain types of ants, including argentine and black sugar ants, will also feed on roaches.
