If a pesticide isn’t working, then the problem is most likely genetic. Bedbugs can become resistant to a particular insecticide through knockdown resistance. This mutation happens in their DNA. This means that their bodies break down pesticides faster and are therefore less toxic. In addition, some of the insects are growing thicker exoskeletons that make it more difficult for pesticides to penetrate.
