They contain diatomaceous earth and silica, which are not the same as the types of diatomaceous earth used in swimming pool filters.
Bedbug sprays can be water-based or oil-based. Water-based spray formulas are safer and won’t stain soft surfaces. Another type of bedbug spray is silica powder, which works by drying out the exoskeleton of the bugs. These sprays are generally used along the baseboards of infested rooms.
