How Long Do Bed Bugs Live in Clothes?
If you suspect that you have a bedbug infestation, you need to take immediate action. Start by sorting your clothes by type. Then, put them in separate plastic bags. Once you have sorted them, place them in the washing machine. Be sure to use the hottest wash and drying temperatures. If the clothes are still wet, take them to a dry cleaner. Make sure to seal the bags and dispose of the plastic bags after washing.
Bedbugs do not like heat. They are not well-equipped to crawl through human hair. Therefore, if you find bedbugs on your clothing, they are probably fleas, ticks or lice. However, you can prevent their infestation by washing your clothes. Alternatively, you can try removing them from your clothing by washing them right away.
After removing the bedbugs, you should thoroughly wash your clothes and check them for infestation. Wash all clothes on the hottest setting possible, and make sure to wash them at 120 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. In addition, you should place dry clothes in airtight containers. Then, remove any clothing that you do not need or don’t wear.
Bedbugs can live on clothes for up to a month. After this, they will either die or move onto another piece of cloth. During this time, they can breed and remain on your clothing for longer than you may expect.
