How Can You Feel a Bed Bug Bite?
If you’ve ever experienced a bed bug bite, you know how uncomfortable it is. The bite is very light and you’ll not feel it unless you’re awoken. Generally, bedbugs are most active at night, when you’re least likely to disturb them. Some people may be more sensitive than others and a bed bug’s bite will be less noticeable on the skin of an older person.
Typically, bedbug bites leave a small hole in your skin, known as a punctum. Most people don’t react to these bites at first and don’t even notice that they’ve been bitten. The size of the punctum will vary depending on the sensitivity of the person.
If you think you’ve been bitten by bedbugs, you can apply a corticosteroid cream to the affected area. The cream is available over the counter and doesn’t need a prescription. The treatment is usually quick and effective, and the bites will disappear within a week.
Bedbugs are not known to carry any disease, but their bites can be unpleasant and itch for a few days. They are best treated as soon as you detect the presence of them.
