How Do Ants Turn Into Cockroaches?
Having ants in your house isn’t the best way to keep cockroaches out. Ants are opportunistic eaters, and can invade your home from the outside.
Ants have an elaborate feeding mechanism. They scavenge food from the ground, and transport it back to their colony. They can eat insects such as flies, mosquitoes, butterflies, moths, and termites. Some species are even able to eat cockroaches.
In addition, ants have an elaborate communication system. They communicate with each other about food sources and quantities. Ants even have a way of transferring bait toxicants between individuals.
There are actually more species of ants than there are cockroaches. Ants have a far more complex feeding mechanism, and their most important attribute is not the one that cockroaches have.
In fact, ants may not even be able to kill cockroaches. They are too fast. However, some species of ants are actually able to prey on cockroaches while they are still alive.
Some species of ants will even swarm to kill a cockroach. Other species are more apt to simply eat the cockroach.
The ant that gets the most credit for the best cockroach control is actually a different species. This ant is known as the argentine ant, and is commonly known as the black sugar ant. It is a surprisingly aggressive insect. It can even sting, and is sometimes called the red imported fire ant.
Ants can be a nuisance, but they are also a nutritionally rich species. They are able to consume proteins from insects and even fats from flies. They can also survive in environments that are unfavourable for cockroaches.
