Cinnamon Kill Ants
Whether you live in a home or business, ants can be a problem. They are persistent in their search for moisture and food. They leave pheromone trails to communicate to other ants. By disrupting those trails, you can deter ants.
A common home remedy for ant control is vinegar. But it’s not always effective. In fact, a 2014 study found cinnamon essential oil to be highly effective at killing ants.
You can use cinnamon oil on the outside of your home. You can also use it to wipe down ant entry points, such as baseboards, doors, windows and kitchen cupboards. It’s also safe to use around children and pets. You can also mix cinnamon oil with vodka for an effective ant repellent.
Another ant control home remedy is peppermint oil. You can also add tea tree oil to cinnamon essential oil. Peppermint oil is safe for food preparation areas and can also be used in combination with cinnamon essential oil.
Another method to get rid of ants is to place cinnamon sticks around your house. They work well as a deterrent and are much less messy than using cinnamon powder.
When you have ants, it’s important to find the entry point and seal it off. You can do this with a Q tip dipped in 100% Cinnamon Leaf Oil. You can also spray the solution on the exterior of your house. You can also wipe down empty trash bins with cinnamon oil solution.
