When you hear the phrase “spider in my ear” you may think of a mythical creature that creeps into your head and crawls out at night. But in reality, you can encounter many insects in your ear, including cockroaches, ticks, and even a few flies. And the best part is, they don’t care if they get inside your ear.

In fact, they’ve been caught in the human ear canal in quite a few cases. Doctors have removed cockroaches and even fruit-fly larvae.

However, if you think you might have an insect in your ear, you should go to the doctor right away. Some bugs can cause pain, as well as buzzing and other unpleasant symptoms, so you shouldn’t wait too long.
