Where Do Cockroaches Hide During the Day?

Cockroaches spend most of their day hiding and eating leftover food. They love to live in moist, dark areas. They can also scurry up crumbs on floors and surfaces, and they can even cling to pet kibble. Cockroaches often enter homes through cracked and unprotected areas.

If you’re suspicious of the presence of roaches in your home, you can check for their droppings. These are often similar to coffee grounds, and you’ll find them in areas that roaches frequent. You’ll also find their egg cases, called oothecae. These are tan or dark brown and cylindrical in shape. They vary in size from five to ten millimeters long.

Another place cockroaches prefer to hide is in your home’s furniture. Whether they prefer soft or hard surfaces, roaches use any spot with a source of moisture and food. Often, they’ll use a desk or computer, and you might never even know it’s there. Even if you don’t see them during the day, they may come out at night to eat keyboard crumbs. You might even find them nesting in a book or on a piece of furniture.

Cockroaches love moisture and dark areas. They like the dark spaces around appliances like the refrigerator, which are filled with condensation. They also hide in places such as the upper corners of cabinets, cardboard boxes, and paper bags.
