How to Get Rid of Ants

Getting rid of ants can be a challenge. They are tiny creatures, but they can eat almost anything. They can also get into your pantry, where they can find spills and grains.

The best way to get rid of ants is to remove the source of food and to seal entry points. Once you have these steps done, you’ll be able to control the problem.

If ants are entering your home, you can use a vinegar and water solution to kill them. Mix one part vinegar with one part water and spray it where ants are seen. This will destroy their scent trails.

You can also use a borax solution, which is found at your local hardware store. Mix one part borax with two parts sugar and water. This will kill ants within three weeks. Keep this solution away from children and pets, though.

If you don’t want to use chemicals, consider using essential oils to repel ants. These oils are available online and in health food stores. Sprinkle them around baseboards and around ant trails. You can also spray them directly on the ants.

Another method to control ants is to use diatomaceous earth. Diatomaceous earth is made from fossilized phytoplankton, which cuts through the ants’ exoskeletons.

You can also use pepper and cayenne pepper to repel ants. Pepper works as a repellant, but it won’t kill them. You can also sprinkle cinnamon around ant trails. You can spray it directly on the ants or wipe them with a towel.
